The EchoLink Pro comes with two components firstly the mains powered transmitter that plugs directly into the television or stereo. The transmitter is simple to set up and can be mounted to the television using Velcro. For extra accessibility the device is compatible with analogue or optical television connections.
Secondly the EchoLink Pro comes with a receiver that picks up the signals from the transmitter. The device uses clever infra-red technology; however this means the two components must remain within sight of each other in order to communicate. The receiver is rechargeable and has up to 30 hours of life perfect for using for long periods of time.
Once the sound has been received it is amplified into high-quality audio through stereo headphones or an under the chin headset. Alternatively it can be transmitted directly to a hearing aid using the high-powered neck loop that transmits to the aid when switched to the ‘T’ setting. Please note that people with a pacemaker should consult a GP or doctor before using the neck loop.
When out and about the device can double as a personal listener perfect for taking around town and hearing the world around you. The EchoLink Pro has a built in microphone that beautifully amplifies audio. Swapping between audio inputs is simple as the receiver has a large yellow button that is easy to distinguish. Once pressed the audio input switches between the transmitter sound and the audio from a built-in microphone. Furthermore each receiver has a built-in belt clip for carrying when on the move.
For improved sound each receiver has individual tone and volume controls that can be adjusted without effecting anyone else’s listening. The volume can be increased or decreased as required using the side dial. Additionally it features three different tone controls to adjust the bass and treble.
