About the Oarsome Crutch Grips
Oarsome Grips are impact absorbing covers for standard crutch handles that retro-fit on to the original crutch handle. Each time the user puts their weight on the crutch the honeycomb section of the grip compresses. Therefore during the compression phase, the Oarsome Grips take the strain from the palms, wrists and upper body of the user, then reforms in between each step ready to absorb the impact again.
Oarsome Grips directly addresses both the short and long term causes of sore hands, wrists and upper body of the crutch user. Research has shown that in a clinical setting, not only is the antibacterial nature of the Oarsome Grips seen as an important selling point but the impact absorbing nature of the grips mean that the focus can remain on the main source of the pain for the crutch holder. Often the crutch user will report the secondary pain in the hands and upper body as being more intense than the primary pain. The use of Oarsome Grips can prevent the associated developing problems of crutch users such as carpel tunnel syndrome.
