The Rollz motion rhythm is an innovative rollator that has been developed for users that may experience disruptions in their gait patterns or freezing episodes. Specifically it has been designed for people living with certain neurological conditions such as Parkinsons.
Clever technology encourages the start of the rhythmic gait pattern again. This is done by activating 3 cues - laser sound and vibration.
A green laserline is projected onto the ground to stimulate breaking a freeze and improve the stride's length and walking speed. A metronome signals the preferred step frequency and the acoustic rhythm contributes to regulating the walking speed and finally the handles vibrate at the rhythm of the pace. A these cues are done very discreetly.
This system is fully customisable to suit the individuals specific needs plus it is easy to set by both the user or the carer. The Rollz Motion Rhythm can be used alongside a rehabilitation programme. It allows physiotherapists and other professionals to support patients rehabilitating from neurological or mobility-impacting injuries. This includes people who have been in a coma people living with Multiple Sclerosis or other neurological conditions that require extra support in order to re-learn how to walk
The cues can also be further customized on the Rollz app. The app is very easy to use and is available to download for free for Android and iOS users.
