VAT Relief allows a person who has a long-term illness or a permanent disability to buy eligible items without having to pay VAT therefore saving 20% on the normal VAT inclusive price.
Most of the products which can be purchased from Manage At Home are available for an eligible person to purchase without paying VAT on them. HM Revenue and Customs sets out the conditions when equipment for people with a long-term illness or a permanent disability might be eligible for VAT relief and how to claim exemption from paying VAT on these products.
On the My Basket page of this website, an online declaration form is provided if the basket contains a product that qualifies for VAT relief. Tick the box to state that you wish to claim VAT relief on the eligible product(s). If possible, the person making the claim should complete this form, but a family member, carer or medical professional may complete the form on the claimants behalf.
Standard delivery for orders over £50 to an address on the UK mainland is free of charge. More remote locations may experience a longer than normal delivery period. Orders under £50 incur a charge of £4.95 for delivery to the UK mainland.
For deliveries to UK islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey and some Scottish Highland postcodes additional charges may apply. Please call our customer service department for further information as costs charged for these deliveries vary.
Returns
When you buy online or by phone, you have additional rights as a consumer under the Distance Selling Regulations. This means if you as the purchaser notify us in writing of your wish to return an item within 14 working days of receiving it, we will refund you for both the purchase price and any delivery charge paid. Please make sure you take reasonable care of the item while it is in your possession, and that it is returned to us unused in or with the original packaging. If the original packaging is unavailable, it is the customers responsibility to ensure the product is suitably packed for its safe return. The cost of returning the product is the customers responsibility; we do however aim to provide low cost or free returns where it is feasible for us to do so.
